Bonus Objective
Intelligence confirms that the National Library Board (NLB) has a book blog called “High Browse Online“. If you are writing about particular books for the COM242 final research project, you are also encouraged submit your work to the library’s blog. Not only would you get a grade, but gain exposure for yourself (and your blog) as well. You may even win a prize sponsored by the library too!

Final Remarks
On a voluntary level, you are requested to blog what you’ve learnt from this library outing, then leave a comment here with a permalink back to your blog post. This will benefit fellow classmates who are unable to join in due to class scheduling conflict. For more on the National Library, check out the Rambling Librarian’s blog…

  1. Kevin, I read this post to the end and noticed it’s filed under “General”. How apt! (In case this joke is too subtle… ‘General’, as in ‘General Kevin’) LOL

    hey,
can i ask if i can go to the national library myselfn as my place is nearby?
What time and where do i have to meet the class if i go myself?

    thanks!

Yeah, I have the same question as well. I would appreciate it if I could get to the Nat Library myself (I live very nearby!)as it saves on unnecessary traveling expense!Sorry, poor student talking here.

  4. No. As explained in class, keeping track of 60+ students is a difficult feat as it stands. The convenience of oneself would diminish the convenience of others (such as myself). Make sure to attend the class as attendance will be taken and an in-class briefing will take place where you will be grouped into sections of 15 students.

  5. Hahaha! I can already imagine how Bernard Leong(BscBA 2nd Intake) would react upon seeing this post if he’s doing this course. LOL!!! I’m sorry I just had to do this.

  6. Oh, nearly forgot… some soundtrack to go with the briefing. 😛

  12. Kevin,
Was just wondering about the presentations. Since the group that was to present this monday did not, due to the excursion, are the presentations pushed back for everyone by a week? My group is presenting on Media Violence on the 26th of feb, and i wanted to find out is if it is still on that date or has it been pushed back.
    Thanks.
    Roshni.

  13. Roshni, the group that was suppose to present this week will present first thing on Monday (26th Feb) instead. However, your group will present in the same week Wednesday (28th Feb), so that remaining groups can present as per scheduled.
